Designated a World Heritage Site in 1995, Luang Prabang sits at the meeting point of two rivers and offers numerous opportunities for sailing, climbing, and exploring scenic caves and waterfalls.

Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 0.5 hours traveling from Bagan to Luang Prabang. In March, daytime highs in Luang Prabang are 40°C, while nighttime lows are 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Vang Vieng.

Lying 150 km (93 mi) from Vientiane en route to Luang Prabang, and perched on the Song River, Vang Vieng attracts eco-tourists for the bizarre limestone hills surrounding the town.
