Create an itinerary including Hemakuta Hill Temple Complex
Visit the southern section of the Hampi World Heritage Site to see Hemakuta Hill Temple Complex, home to several shrines predating most other structures within the important archeological locality. While some of the oldest ruins on this hill date back to the 10th century, others were added after the establishment of the Vijayanagara Empire and include fortified walls designed to protect the area from potential invaders. Pay special attention to the monumental sculptures representing Narasimha, an incarnation of Vishnu as a man-lion. In addition to its historical and architectural significance, the hill also serves as an ideal lookout point, providing sweeping views over the ancient capital's bazaar. • It’s a hilly complex next to Virupaksha temple. It has many small temples and structures. The view from sunset point is nice. Definitely worth a visit
  • The Hemakunta Hill houses a temple complex, many of them dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated in the southern side of Hampi, these temples are amongst the oldest and most ancient ones that still remain in Hampi. Many of these temples were constructed between the 9th and 14th Century, therefore even predating the famous Vijayanagara Empire
