Create an itinerary including Hidimba Devi Temple
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Hidimba Devi Temple, a sanctuary in the Himalayan foothills dedicated to a deity from the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. Dating back to the 16th century, the temple was built over a massive, jutting rock, a manifestation of the earth goddess. Interestingly, devotees here pay their respects to the lark rock, instead of an image of the deity. Admire the tall wooden tower and the sacred stone inside, or enjoy the atmosphere of the exterior, surrounded by a tranquil cedar forest. With our international travel planner, Manali attractions like Hidimba Devi Temple can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • A short uphill walk in old Manali will take you there. Excellent place for devotees. Disciplined queue, ancient structure makes it a tourist attraction.

  • I like the most, come early morning here and you feel the place. The temple is good and preserved very well. You can do many activities over their as well like you have an option of photography. You also get a option to spend time in beautiful garden. Apart from that the tall trees are make this place so special and beautiful.
  • Located in a beautiful place that has been untouched (on the inside). Take a cab to get to it and don’t be bothered by the fake products salesmen. The trees in the compound are ages old and it feels like you are in a forest. The temple itself is unique because of its history. Highly recommend!
