The Goa Chitra is an ethnographic museum based in the former Portuguese colony (and now India's smallest state) of Goa. It has a large collection—over 4000 artefacts —focusing on Goa's traditional agrarian technology and lifestyle.Put Goa Chitra Museum and other Goa attractions into our Goa trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.
Goa Chitra is based in the coastal Goan village of Benaulim. It was founded and is run (2010) by the artist-curator-restorer Victor-Hugo Gomes. TimeOut Mumbai has described the museum as "[o]ne of Goa's most charming attractions" and add that "this little rural complex houses thousands of traditional implements, vessels and tools that evolved over centuries in the agrarian heartland of Goa in the service of farming and other traditional trades".

We visited the place in the first week of January 2022 with family. It is an excellent place to showcase our children about the art and culture. We thoroughly cherished the visit. Its rare to find such passionate personal collection. The museum is very organized and the guide very knowledgeable. We were staying at Simply Home-stay, ~900 m from this place and the museum owner was kind enough to drop us back. A must visit place in Goa.

I decided to visit this place just to kill time. But it turned out to be such a good choice. The place is amazing with so many artifacts, in a beautiful ambience. The guides were excellent and patient in explaining things. They even added what the things were called in my mother tongue, which was incredible.
