Wicklow Mountains National Park
With historical sites, walking trails, rock climbing, fishing, and swimming, Wicklow Mountains National Park offers a great day out. Explore Glendalough—valley of two lakes—a 3 km (1.9 mi) tract of verdant greenery, which contains many important ancient buildings and ruins. Visit the monastic city, a series of partially ruined buildings that made up the monastery, which was founded by Saint Kevin in the 6th century. Here you can see the gateway, the round tower, the cathedral, the priest's house, St. Kevin's kitchen, and St. Kieran's church. Visit the upper lake, and walk one the many trails that wend their way through woods, bogs, grasslands, heath, and scree. For rock climbers, try the cliff faces at Miners' Road and bouldering in upper Glendalough. I've seen some of this places in this Park, and I must say it was a beautiful experience. It's quiet, windy, solitary and peaceful. Go for it!

The Wicklow mountain range is just stunning. Everywhere you go, you have a beautiful view. I especially recommend driving the R759 on the north-ish end. At the end of October the farn and grass look like a prairie on the south island of New Zealand.
