  • My father's ancestors would have come to America on a boat much like this one. Seeing it and understanding the horrowing trip was truly an eye opener. The rebuilt Dunbrody is being well maintained...

  • Enjoyed it. I have been on a few more of these Famine ships and the conditions for those escaping the Great hunger were inhuman, and as Refugees, Emigrants, those who did not die from disease rapidly spreading, and made it over, very little known on how they made it in America and Canada.. Some women would have gone into Service. The Famine ship in New Ross experience is very professionally carried out with re-enacting of two different experiences of the journey. Very well done, worth the visit.
  • I absolutely loved it, a truly wonderful place to learn about the conditions on board famine ships and I thought the Irish American Hall of fame was a stirring tribute to the hard work and achievements of so many Irish emigrants. I had two excellent guides - Jayson and Adam who were very friendly, informative and enthusiastic.
