Walk, row, sail, and water-ski at Jurmala Beach--a former favorite holiday resort of Soviet communist leaders and cosmonauts. Walk down the 33 km (21 mi) long, wheelchair-friendly beach covered with white quartz sand, and look for pieces of amber. Notice the old wooden villas designed in Art Nouveau style. You can rent water bicycles, or have a drink at the beach cafe. You also can find playgrounds, small benches, football fields, volleyball courts, kite-surfing and windsurfing stations, health resorts, and spa centers. The beach also hosts one of the largest water parks in northern Europe, offering more than 45 attractions. By using our Jurmala planning website, you can arrange your visit to Jurmala Beach and other attractions in Jurmala.

  • It is a beautiful beach. The beach is pretty long so you could have a walk. We spent a whole day here, we had a lot of fun here. There are a lot of cafes here where to enjoy some different types of coffee. I would recommend going in the summer. You will have more fun at that time.
  • We went to Jurmala Beach in September on our back from the bog walk. It's a really nice and clean beach when we visited. The beach was completely empty because of the cold weather. During this season none of the restaurants were open but you can still use the restroom or change if you dare to jump into the water.
