Wow. This is an incredible museum It’s thorough, it’s painful, and it’s deep. It’s no wonder the Baltics have such an affinity for Ukraine. There’s so many echoes of its past.

Overall it was a good museum, there was lots of information regarding the Soviet occupation of Latvia. However, bar the tiny mention in the picture attached, this museum did not explain or expand on.... more

amazing museum, well thought out and organised, making the information easy to follow and absorb. the stories were heartfelt, and allowed me to learn about the uphill battle Latvia fought to claim the independence it has today

A small museum that tells about the German and Soviet occupation in Latvia. I think if you want to understand the history of the Baltic countries you should see this museum. However, if you have been to the Museum of the Second War in Gdańsk, Poland, you will be taken to the Museum in Riga. Of course, the history of Poland and Latvia is different, but the occupiers were the same.
