Long, wide stretches of white sand, numerous playgrounds, and a plethora of water sports make the Blue Flag Ventspils Beach a favorite spot for locals and visitors. Stretching for 1.2 km (0.7 mi) along the Baltic, the site has beach spots as wide as 80 m (260 ft) and features impressive sand dunes nearby, which can reach up to 9 m (30 ft) tall. The water's gradual slope makes the beach suitable for both beginners and expert swimmers. Rent a lounge chair or spread out your towel, go for a swim, or just have a picnic at this scenic spot. • We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon, most probably there were more people on the beach than on the streets. Very clean & well organized beach Hopefully I will be back next year :)

  • One of the best seasides I know. Very nice sand, beautiful sand dunes, pine forest next to it. Beach has lots of utilities, children playgrounds, toilets, changing booths, bars, even bike stands. The only problem, sea is usually very cold.
  • The sand is so fine and white but lots of stones everywhere. Don't expect the turquoise waters from the Mediterranean of course. Latvia has some of the most well-equipped beaches I've ever seen...bike racks, benches, football cages, lifeguards, playground for kids and adults alike, changing rooms, toilets, volleyball courts, ...great for families and beyond. No boardwalk or real restaurants located on the beach but maybe it's a way to preserve the beach.
