Padrao dos Descobrimentos
Celebrate Portugal's rich history of exploration at Padrao dos Descobrimentos, which was built to commemorate Prince Henry the Navigator and the Age of Discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries. Architect José Angelo Cottinelli Telmo and sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida created the original statue for the 1940 Portuguese World Fair. It was later destroyed but then rebuilt in 1958 by the government. Note the monument's square with its marble compass rose, which was a gift from South Africa. We was just for one night in Lisbon. So we decided to go on the next morning to the attraction around us. I had a Portuguese Person with me so was really beautiful the explanation he did to me. I’m quite impressed of this amazing stonework. On the floor and the statue. This Place on the Port was really nice and worth to see. 🌞

Very cool monument on the waterfront. Worth visiting and taking a stroll along the promenade. Monument is very impressive up close. 6 euro to go inside and up to the top. I didn't pay as I don't think this price is worth it. Maybe there is a lot to see inside, not sure.
