Known as the "Pink City" because of the color of the stone used for many of its notable structures, Jaipur draws visitors with its chaotic street life and a slew of colorful bazaars selling everything from handmade pottery to tie-dye scarves.

Start off your visit on the 4th (Mon): look and learn at Jantar Mantar - Jaipur, then admire the striking features of Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors), and then step into the grandiose world of Amber Palace.

New Delhi to Jaipur is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. In December, daily temperatures in Jaipur can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Mon) early enough to fly back home.
