Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Appreciate the collections at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian and Museu Nacional do Azulejo. For shopping fun, head to Rossio Square or Juicy Soaps. Venture out of the city with trips to Sintra (Park and National Palace of Pena & Quinta da Regaleira). There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Castelo de S. Jorge, admire the masterpieces at Museu Colecao Berardo, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, and take an in-depth tour of Carmo Archaeological Museum.
