Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum and Nativity of Christ Cathedral. You'll explore and learn at Museum of the Occupation of Latvia and KGB Building. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Jurmala Beach, take a stroll through Old City Riga (Vecriga), see the interesting displays at Riga Motormuseum, and appreciate the history behind Freedom Monument.

Cēsis, is a town in Latvia located in the northern part of the Central Vidzeme Upland. Start off your visit on the 23rd (Thu): identify plant and animal life at Ligatnes Nature Trails, then step into the grandiose world of Old Sigulda Castle, and then step into the grandiose world of Turaida Castle. Here are some ideas for day two: step into the grandiose world of Cesis Medieval Castle, have fun and explore at ZINOO Cesis, then contemplate the long history of Limbazi Medieval Castle Ruins and Panorama Tower, and finally examine the collection at Live Silver Museum.
