National Centre for Birds of Prey
Visit a collection of over 100 owls, eagles, hawks, vultures, and falcons at National Centre for Birds of Prey, all in the setting of Duncombe Park. Catch one of the several daily flight shows, or glimpse birds completing flight training on the lawns between shows. You can view birds housed in three roofed aviaries, or come within a few feet of the currently-in-training birds living in the hawk walk. What a delightful place. Greeted at the admission point by a very warm and helpful member of staff. Found the birds fascinating, the layout of the centre very easy to follow and the setting quite lovely. Highlight for us, was the bird display which was worth the admission price on it's own! The birds are amazing to watch fly, the talks informative and plenty of laughs to be had as the birds don't always "follow the script" (one very stubborn burrowing owl in particular stole our hearts). The cafe wasn't open for our visit sadly, but we were told it would be reopening at Easter. But it's a great spot for a picnic (especially if the weather is fine). So..... watch a flying display, then get your picnic blanket out. By the time you've finished that second round of sandwiches, it will be time for the 1400 display with a whole different set of birds. Really looking forward to a return visit.

Wonderful centre! With extremely knowledgeable staff who give world class care to a large range of interesting birds of prey. They vary up the flight demonstrations so it's well worth going to more than one! There's also a gift shop by the entrance
