Explore 324 hectares (800 acres) of world-class wetlands set against the backdrop of the Severn Estuary. WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre is home to a wealth of resident and migratory wildlife from all over the world. Take a guided walk to learn more about the Slimbridge Wetlands, its history, the center's conservation work, and the wildlife. Tours take place once a day, so check the events board when you arrive at the center to find out where and when to meet. Be sure to also check times for talks and special events taking place, such as otter talks and the wild bird feed. Get up close to the birds and pick up some grain to offer them at exhibits where feeding is permitted. The Water Edge restaurant is an ideal place to relax after your walk around the grounds. The restaurant offers views of the Caribbean flamingos and, weather permitting, the picnic tables on the terrace allow you to get even closer to them. Binoculars can be hired from the reception, and you can visit the In Focus Shop on site if you’d like to purchase your own equipment. A lovely place to visit with the family. Plenty for children to do, including welly boot land and feeding the ducks. Lovely range of swans, geese and flamingos within easy reach of the entrance. You need to walk further to see birds such as the kingfishers. Lots to keep the family entertained for a few hours or whole day. Great wheelchair access and accessibility. We really enjoy eating in the Kingfisher Kitchen restaurant overlooking the flamingos.

A magical place! I have been here a couple of times and every time have had an amazing experience. This the the place it all started with Sir Peter Scott who is such an inspiring character. Visiting his house on site with tour guide Mary was certainly one of the highlights. We got to learn a lot about this amazing man who brought WWT to life. We stayed at Tudor campsite a 15 minute walk away which we also highly recommend. A lovely place to visit.
